The company relocated to its 10-acre site in Stafford in 1938 and since then there has been a notable development in facilities and service levels. The operations include sawing and machining of timber, timber treatment, roof truss design and manufacture. I-beam design and supply, MDF mouldings and panel products.
In February 2001, Cox Long was acquired by the Walker Timber Group to expand its growing timber engineering division and to provide a supply base in North West England. Since then considerable investment has led to purpose built offices and a new timber frame production unit. We also partnered with our East coast colleagues at Guildway to offer the increasingly popular Buildpak just-in-time supply service for housebuilders; designed to cut down on site storage and reduce waste.
With the addition of the timber frame and Buildpak operations to complement existing services, all backed by highly skilled and experienced people and supported by dedicated in-house design and technical teams, Cox Long is well equipped to meet all timber related requirements for the construction industry.
All systems within Cox Long are certified to ISO 9002 requirements and the company has Chain of Custody (PEFC and FSC) certification to demonstrate the Company's commitment to source timber from sustainable and renewable sources.
